Njene radove čuva Narodni muzej u Beogradu, Arhiv SANU i Galerija Matice srpske u Novom Sadu. Njeni najpoznatiji radovi su „Autoportret“ i portret brata Dimitrija.

In the Serbian history of art, Mina Karadžić – Vukomanović was one of the first women painters. Mina played a significant role in Serbian literature as well, not to a surprise, since she was a daughter of the famous language reformer, philologist and linguist Vuk Karadžić.

Mina was one of thirteen children, but she and her brother Dimitrije were the only ones to survive of all of their siblings. Their family home in Vienna was the meeting point for many notable persons from Serbian history, such as Đura Daničić, Njegoš, Branko Radičević

Although, Mina’s family was poor, her parents did everything in order for her to get the best education. She spoke several languages and she was translating Serbian folk poems and other  written heritage to German. Mina was a great translator of which even Jacob Grimm spoke highly. She was also helping her father who was working on the “Dictionary” a lot. Mina’s translation of Serbian folk tales and songs was printed out in Berlin in 1854, titled „Volksmarchen der Serben“.

Although Mina was a writer, translator and an important literary figure, first of all she was a painter. She painted in oil, watercolor but she also did some drawings. She loved drawing portraits, mostly of people from her surrounding. Today, her works could be seen in the National Museum in Belgrade, Serbian Academy of Arts and the Gallery of Matica Srpska in Novi Sad. Her most famous works are “Autoportrait” and the portrait of her brother Dimitrije.
